Project Status Notice
Hello, Crafters. This is DarkShamanism, the sole developer for the FarGlade project. It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the end of development for all Glade-adjacent projects.
FarGlade began as a way for me to give back to a community that gave me a great deal of enjoyment during my formative years. I knew getting into this that any online community can carry conflict, harassment, and negativity, and Lord of The Craft has especially had a long history of intense interpersonal pressure around staff, lore, and roleplay groups.
I was prepared for criticism, disagreement, and the normal friction that comes with any creative endeavor. I was not prepared for threats, intimidation, attempted account breaches, and disruptions that reached far beyond the scope of the internet itself, especially with the origin coming from one the server's volunteer staff members.
During the course of this year, LotC-associated emails and accounts, my forum-associated email, my lore-associated email, and my private Minecraft server have all been targeted or compromised. There have also been multiple occasions where an individual member of the Development Team, along with people connected to him, entered play.farglade.com to grief the server through blocks or exploitations.
Given the prior history of personal information being obtained and leaked without my consent by this individual, these events have made it impossible for me to feel safe continuing to maintain or expand the Glade in any public or private capacity.
I have attempted to bring these concerns, along with evidence, to the appropriate Moderation and Development leadership. My requests to have a conversation were dismissed or outright ignored, which left me with no confidence that the situation, the project, or my personal safety around it would be treated with any genuine consideration.
This decision is not directed at the community members who used, supported, tested, or encouraged FarGlade. I am forever grateful for that support - you are the reason we made it this far. However, I can no longer commit my time, labor, or personal security to continued development under these circumstances. Ceasing the project is not the outcome I wanted, but it is the only responsible path forward for me and my family.
